Topic: Unique officers

Given that unique and extraordinary officers are part & parcel of sci-fi, what do you do to show this on the board? I've been working on sets of unique characters myself: Each one brings abilities beyond the regular paper strength of the ship, but adds a cost multiplier to the overall CR of the vessel if used. For example, with what I've done so far, the CR of the original Enterprise would probably end up at around 1.5x or more if all of the main characters of Star Trek were included.

Has anyone else developed systems for this?

Re: Unique officers

VBAM has provisions for experianced officers. Specifically the newer Stars Divided Sourcebook has officers tailored for Starmada.

Re: Unique officers

Plus, of course, crews as well. The Enterprise would have a legendary crew as well as an officer with a level 4 fleet trait, I reckon...

Re: Unique officers

Picked up VBAM Starmada recently. Now all I need to do is reverse-engineer them for especially incompetant officers. smile

Now, I'm going to look that one up, but Ozzel was actually at the top of my list.

Re: Unique officers

Who?

Jankowski was the captain of the Prometheus, the cruiser that led the mission into Minbari space and, by his stupidity and hubris, almost killed off humanity. EarthForce already knew of his incompetence (Omega Incident), but he obviously had some pretty strong patrons, as he survived it. Not much is known of the Omega Incident, except that it is presumed to be centred around the Dilgar War.

Man your realllllly into that show arent you?

Re: Unique officers

Well done for noticing that. Much better than that Star Trek any day. I mean, if you're going to explore, do it with heavy weapons and marines, not with a pitiful weaponset and security teams which might not beat off Signers aliens...:D
