Here I am in Virden, IL, with my 10-year-old sister in law looking over my shoulder, waiting for the turkey to cook.
So I thought I'd say, Happy Turkey Day to those in the states -- and to those outside the states, I say "nyah nyah -- I get to stuff my face until I belch uncontrollably, and it's socially acceptable!"
We Canadians got to do that several weeks ago, eh!

Seriously, though, what is it about turkey? It isn't as good a meat as chicken, in my view.
And a Sunday roast is the best meal ever, in my view. Especially if you get the perfect Yorkshire pudding and the perfect roast potatoes

What's Yorkshire pudding?
Turkey is harder to get right, and is usually dry. It's why those of us in the USA that happen to live in the less 'frigid' environs have tried frying them. The main problem with turkey is its' size. Most people just don't have the facilities to deal with them and get in a hurry to cook them.
I wonder it anyone has tried a pressure cooker? I don't think I've seen one large enough...

Carmen likes turkey, so we had a turkey breast on Saturday.
..ugh, back to the diet....
Happy turkey day... Really late, but I was in no condition to use the computer after that meal or anytime until the next week...

I know it's late.. but my fiance' has a way of cooking a turkey, so that it never comes out dry.....
We've had a number of them, and they are always moist.... and done really well.....
I'll have to find out exactly how she does it, and post the instructions

Looking forward to it. The only problem is that my wife has to have anything 'domestic' or 'health' related substantiated by a female....and *I* will be the one telling her....

Seriously, I have no idea. I have an arrangement with food--I'll only eat it and not cook it and it won't burn...:)
@Taltos: No, its just that after a while its boring. Chicken is one of the best meats around, alongside pork. Not many other meats can cut it...:D
