Topic: Field Piercing Weapons

I had never considered that as inherently V (vehicle piercing) weapons, F ( Field Piercing) weapons could be read as not gaining the bonuses for firing at poorly armoured troops (ie, troops with a +1 to +4 armour rating).

So, do F weapons have ALL the attributes of V weapons, or only the advantages?

Re: Field Piercing Weapons

Couldn't find where it says F(ield Piercing) weapons are also V(ehicle Piercing) :?

All F wepons do pierce both Vehicle and Infantry fields, thus preventing all field saves, but don't have any effect on the LOF modifiers gained from armour or target class AFAIK.

P(hase) weapons on the other hand include both F and V, with all benefits and penalties thereof. This is explicitely stated in the corrected-for-typo P example. The original published version states the facts right, but says the Infantry armour is ignored because a P weapon is also F.

Re: Field Piercing Weapons

AHA! That's what I had arse-about then. It's P=V&F not P&F=V, in terms of armour penetration.

Glad I clarified that or I'd'a had the rule wrong in my head and applied it wrong in-game. Not that F comes up much in Legions of Steel proxy games.
