Are there any minor quirks that you just want to fix?? Maybe just fix those, add some things you have had in the back of your head and call it Starmada X revised, or Starmada X.1

Maybe add some kind of section for "suggestions."  Keep it generic so you don't break copyrights:

How would the Starmada rules do : Warp Drive, phasers, photon torps, shields (all meaning how would you convert to SX).

How would you do Star Wars, Stargate, etc...

You might have to talk in generalities to keep from  violating their stuff...

This way, there would be common rules already done if people wanted to do  ST or SW or SG...etc..

My two cents...Jim and I were doing some Bourbaki Basin stuff up, but I've been too distracted to get into it (heh, see the Wardogs threads). Jim's been busy too, I believe.

I'm glad Dan is such a workaholic where all this is concerned, if it was me, I'd be back on Compendium issues....I haven't touched my own game stuff over on Geocities for ...6, 7 years?


I think detailing fighters like small starships is appropriate - that's what the ARE, aren't they? Just more automation, smaller crews, and unable to do as much as a fully-crewed ship.

If you add anything 'universe -specific', you'd better have a license from the author - so unless Dan can fork over a LOT of cash to Paramount, I don't think we can do an 'official' trek-specific stuff - there's some un-official 'fan generated' non-profitable stuff over in the Yahoo list files section - some Star Wars stuff too, IIRC....

I think that Drone packages would have to be done in the ship spreadsheet, and the cost added/subtracted on a per-ship basis. I don't see an easy way to do that and maintain proper ship costs. Essentially, that would mean each drone package modification would be costed as a weapon ability, and run through the spreadsheets as needed.

If Dan wants to do some ship cards with pictures, I'm game.

Any discussion concerning Starmada (as long as we can get it productive) is good. Any game that stagnates, eventually dies. As long as there is growth, the game will continue... for all of our enjoyment.

Sometimes even a minor refresh is enought to spark new intrest, or perhaps that nudge for new players to buy the book,
etc...

For a game that allows such great customization of ships and the designing of weapons like Starmada X does, I was surprised that the spinal mount (and battlesats, fighters, marine squads, drones) are such a "here you go" type. I think it would be cool to be able to adjust all of the stats to suit the mileu's needs. If I want a spinal mount that hits on a 3+ and has a PEN of 2, what do I do? Just like I think I should be able to have a figher that is speed 15 has an ROF of 3 and hits on a 3+ or a battlesat that is speed 10, or a drone speed 6 but a DMG of 3, etc..
