Ships that only partly exist in normal space, Rift Walker ships were designed to be able to travel through normal space, hyperspace, and into other dimensions. Their very nature makes them difficult to target and destroy, since only part of them physically exists in normal space, but they are also much smaller than other race's ships of the same classification.

I made an uber cheese fleet one time with 1 Regeneration ship with a lot of hull, and a bunch of escort ships with no weapons and a lot of hull. Combat, hide behind the escort ships and heal up, repeat as necessary.

I loved the original Battle Satellites sad

It's not to not be the one who's breaking the game for a change XD

I'm with Glen on this one, having a fleet with smaller ships like we have in our Navy seems utterly insane. It seems too easy to simply capsize them and instantly kill every single person on board.

I use the complete opposite as well, Reinforced Systems with minor shields, ECM, and the rest hull.
Add Fire Control, and it's not unusual for my ships to go down without suffering any real system damage.

You could try adding a note to the design section of the book. Something along the lines of talking about the eggshells with sledgehammers potentially reducing the fun of the game, and that only designing ships that are powerful and not fun kinda misses the point of the entire designing system.

Pretty much this. Picking only what wins in a game where you have so many options for ship designing kinda misses the entire point of the game.

It might be more expensive than you think. Try designing a ship with FX/FH weapons, then restrict their arcs and give it overthrusters.

Have a larger ship split fire and nail multiple ones might work. Marines could work as well.
I found the slow fire trait to be too easily abusable with small ships(like the satellites launching 72 missiles in 1 turn), so I just took it off.
