Dan

Starmada X Ver. 1.0 January 22 2004, gives the ECM Slave unit a Defence rating of x1.3

Cannot seem to find a link to the Compendium FAQ.

Which is correct please?

When I added the extra batteries, I missed redirecting the Q on the damage chart from AW33 to AW35 on the template sheet.
Corrected it on the 21st.
Should be ok, works on OpenOffice (as an Excel sheet).
OpenOffice does give several save options for Excel, I chose the Excel 97/2000/XP option for these sheets.

Different Tech Levels for equipment?

Check out Tables sheet Equipment Column K, changes tech level for each type of equipment..
Did that a little while back.

Is that what you are wanting Nahuris?

The Shipyard sheets that I posted have the option of each weapon having a different tech level.
That may be of use to you.

Both, Screen/Shield and KEB versions just updated.

Just one number change was needed, just shows how interlinked it all is.

Any other errors or ideas, let me know.

Updated with SU refecting Large or Small Fighter Bays.
A few other odds and ends added.
Check out the equipment.

Could we have an "official" yes or no on Uncle_Joe's weapon costing.

Could not get the "Shields" to change to "KEB" on the Template sheet.
Therefore, a seperate shipyard for those wishing to use the KEB system.

21st March, Q Damage allocation fixed.

Requested by Faustus21,

Shipyard with Five Batteries for use with Babylon 5 ships etc.

Fighter Bays SU now gives Small Flights and Large Flights smaller or larger bays. Before, they were all 50SU.

Comments? Errors? (It was a fairly large rewrite so there may be a few)

Updated 20th March 2006:-
Damage allocation sorted for 5 Batteries, Battery E becomes Battery F as it clashed with the Engines on the chart. A few other minor rewrites.
21st March Q damage allocation fixed.

Sorry, you did not say what version you are using.

On K David Ladage's Original Shipyard v1.1 dated 4 Nov 2005, the expendable option is listed between Dbl Range Mods and Extra crew Casualties.

I have not removed it from the versions that I have posted.

Expendable option is on the Special 1, 2 & 3 dropdown lists.

Andy,
I am no expert, it just seemed that nobody was giving answers to problems ( and things that people wanted ) with this spreadsheet and I had just found Open Office so I treated it as a puzzle.

Using cut & paste you should be able to move the information on the Nation Sheet S9:AA24 without a problem. The ship templates may not work, I guess it would be down to which version they were from.

The gun SU calculation (On the Nation sheet?)
I assume that in the SU calculation you changed "(1+$O$9)*$P$9*$Q$9"
to "(($O$9*$P$9*$Q$9)+$O$9)"
Sorry, I think that the only way to do this is to change each weapon one line at a time. Even if you do it in the Find & Replace, change the 9 to (The next weapon line) each time.

Downloads updated.

Andy,
Go to the starmada sheet and copy it as before (Before present one).
On Starmada_2 sheet, go to Edit/Find & Replace.
Find all "Template", Replace all with "Template_2".
This will now match your second template.
Repeat changing each Starmada_(x) to match each Template_(x) sheet.
You can also do this with the List sheet (IF needed).
Print each Starmada sheet as needed.

Counters do have a few advantages, they do not cause the floorboards to sag under the weight, take up a lot less room when it comes to storage and can be of any ship that can be photographed or drawn.

If the counter is  say 500x500 pixels it can be printed at any size you please with fairly good results.
Printed onto "scratchproof" photo paper, stuck onto 2mil card and Magnetic sheet stuck on the bottom.

A "magnetic whiteboard" can be placed on the wall for a table. Or at a pinch, the fridge!

Now as soon as those UFO Interceptors clear the parrot and Father Christmas, they will blow the backside off of that klingon cruiser!

Andy,

Ok, I found that this problem happens if the second template is placed after the first.
Solution:-
Go to Template sheet.
On the Edit Menu choose Sheet/(Move/Copy)
Highlight "Insert before Template",
Tick copy box & ok.

Repeat as many times as needed so long as the copies are before the first Template. You can do this before or after filling in the Nation sheet.

Could you be a little more specific please. Which spreadsheet version? are you using Excel or OpenOffice 2.0? I could not duplicate the error.

When you say "copy" the Template, are you renaming the copy? That would probably upset it.
All of the pages in the spreadsheet are linked, so just putting the Template in a new spreadsheet will cause all sorts of errors.

You could have a spreadsheet for each ship (.ods files are much smaller than Excel ones), saving a copy of the full spreadsheet as the name of each ship, after completing the Nation sheet.
I have found that you can copy the Template, putting the copy in front of the last, several times without error. Keeping the copies as Template_2, Template_3 etc.

Hope this helps

Here is the KEB version.

If there are other things which would be of use on the shipyard, I will have a go at adding them.

Fixing the Stutterdrive and Shockwave was a page or two back, checked my last postings, they work fine on the .ods sheets.
What version are you using?

I did not post the sheets in xls because I cannot check them. However I will try.

I think that OpenOffice is a better choice just because a lot of people cannot fork out for Excel. If more people knew of it, I am fairly sure that the Shipyard and other spreadsheets would get more use.

Here is the Shield/Screen version.

Woops,
Forgot to update the List sheet.
Now changes to show either Shields orScreens.

For anyone using KEB Defence, Here is a version for that.
Could not get it to change properly from Shields/Screens so it is seperate.

catenwolde,
Put this in Template cells $G$8 and $C$53 instead then.
"=+$Y$73"

Jim,
OK, Added Starmada sheet. Just enter details on Template sheet and print the Starmada sheet.
Some changes though.
Will show Hull up to 25.
When Screens are selected, the "Shield" number 1 to 5, is changed to "Screen" numbers 4 to 20.

I do not think that the designer got around to that yet.

Why not do it this way.
Enter "=Nation.$D$13" in Template cells G8 and C53 (They will auto change then without you having to type in each time)

Also, in Template cell G53 put:-
=+IF($C$53="Screens";(REPT("o";$AI$7*4));REPT("o";$AI$7))
Which should show the number of "boxes" for Screens.

I tried entering these on my sheet and had no problem.

I wonder, did you make them available on the Nation sheet, Available equipment, Column I(41?).

772

(123 replies, posted in Starmada)

Have you altered the cell range for the drop down Equipment lists (cellsQ14 to Q35)? Any additions to the list At $AD$3:$AD$72 are placed at the end of the drop down list.

Or do you mean the Equipment shown from Cell B83 on the template sheet?

The Defensive Rating (A.2.2) calculation was changed from that given in the Starmada X rules. The change was noted in the FAQ.

Multiply the number of hull points by 2 (not 3). Then multiply this by the shield factor.

The early SXCAs would have had the incorrect calculation, SXCA 1.1 did.

Hope this helps.

The Tech Levels are as per the normal rules (ie TL+1 = 0.70 SU modifier)
Just that they can be chosen for each Weapon design on the Nation sheet.

Sorry for any confusion.

Here is the sheet that I have updated.
Individual tech levels for Weapons and Equipment (all set to 0 in case not required).
Text sheet added.
Interdictor Field added.
