Thanks, that's what I figured. Now I can continue with my Battlemech vs Zombies setup... smile

When using the optional Battle Mech rules, it seems a bit niggardly to restrict even a Battle Mech to just two weapon slots - especially since with the more detailed damage rules, these weapons can be disabled. It would be depressing to have a DC-9 Mech, with no weapons.

Would it be reasonable to allow up to 4 weapon slots in this case?

A related question: Can I only use two weapon frames with a combination weapon, or can I design a mega-multi-weapon combining three or even four different guns? I imagine the added versatility would come at a higher point cost, and the risk that a weapon-destroying hit could destroy more guns at once.

It's entirely possible that I miscalculated something somewhere... Also, the design isn't meant for the standard setting, but I hope that doesn't matter much. smile
Anyway, here we go:

The Class 2 LSU is a standard unit of the Chinese Hegemony. It is usually deployed as a scout or in a light support role, to complement the heavier Main Combat Units. The recent conflict with Russian forces has demonstrated the tactical advantages of this walker.
Even after it has spent its ammunition, the LSU can still function as a spotter.

You technically can't do a DMG:3 +1 weapon since the DMG:3 is greater than the allowed base maximum.

Good point. It's obvious I tinkered with the design while tired! big_smile

If that is so, I can just as well continue asking questions... wink

The cost of Crystal Reinforced Alloy - do the rules try to tell me that I just add 20% on top of the armor value, and use the result as cost in EMs (rounded up)?
X Armor *1,2 = cost in EM?

Also, the various weapon mods which only change one of the weapons' base stats (range, rof, dam). Does it, frex, make a difference whether I go for a melee weapon with dam 4, or do it with dam 3+1 (for Large Weapon)?

Thanks for your time. I'm currently tinkering with a few unit designs; after that, I'll do a map. When I'm done, I'll post the results. smile

I guess I just overlooked the answers, or maybe it's just to obvious for my brain smile Anyway, here we go:

1. I design a vehicle, and add two energy weapons. Do I increase Thermal Sig for each weapon (i.e. two times), or just once?

2. Target Lock. Once I have achieved it, do I need to reacquire next turn? Only when my target leaves LOS? Never?
(I guess when the target leaves my LOS).

Thanks for your answers!

Wardogs and D:VG aren't in the same gaming category really,...

I know - but I like both gaming categories. Just a matter of what game fluttered its lashes more enticingly smile

(Also, I might get Defiance at a later date)

Thanks for your answers. I was undecided between Defiance and Wardogs; now I bought the latter. smile

The game rules were written in a hex-based default.  However, it can be played without hexes with very little modification.

So the short answer is:  It's what you want it to be. wink

Good to know; I actually prefer hexes.

As I wasn't sure whether to get Defiance or Wardogs, I'll probably go for the latter now.

Since I couldn't find out from any description of this game, I'm asking you: is this a hex-based game?

Thanks for your answers!

Hi, first post here.

Defiance looks quite interesting (and pretty flexible) to me. Now, I've got a few questions:

Can I use it without minis, and rather use counters?
How long does a game take?
How complex is the game, compared to Starmada?

Thanks for your answers!
