Topic: Thinking of buying GF.
Hello,
I used to play a lot of historical back in the day, though it was mostly Age of Sail or Ironclads. I have alway been interested in WW1 and predreadnought era's rather than anything more modern. So I have a few questions and a request.
Questions:
1) Reading the forum GF is a hex based system. I prefer hexless so how easy is GF to convert or does it already have hexless movement designed in?
2) Does it include instructions to stat out ships from historical references? I am interested in some obscure actions and have found that most games focus on WW2 and fail to give the information needed to stat out game cards if you have the ship data.
3) How does it "feel" in play? I know this is a pure opinion question, but does GF play smooth?
4) are there any suppliments planned for non-WW2 interests?
and the request.
Back in 85 (86?) the guy who owned the local gaming store retired and sold off his stock. I bought about 150 WW1 & pre-dread mini's at a discount in lot. But as embarrassing as it is, after all these years I cannot remember the scale. Can someone post a pic of a ship with a size reference (coin, etc)? I am pretty sure they are 1/3000, but I don't have anything to compare to.
Thanks
