Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Added [CD] arc to the Drydock. Multiplier x1.16.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Unless already used by another fire arc (I don't see any like it), PS (new way) could be better than CD (old way).

Had already added [PS] as a stand-in for [HIJK]. Using [CD] based on Paul's suggestion ("cross-deck").

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

FWIW, I'm expecting to add port-wing (PW) and starboard-wing (SW) to reflect the weird arcs on some Klingon ships... They would be the same as [ACF] and [BDE] in Admiralty. Modifiers will be x1.51 each.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Just to confirm, these new arcs will be present in the finished edition, correct?

No. These arcs are being added to the Drydock per individual user requests, and are consistent with the rules on Custom Firing Arcs. However, the rules themselves will be limited to the twenty arcs currently listed.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Ah, of course, I forgot that there were customised arcs. It looks like I'm going to be using a lot of options when I play...:)

lol  lol  It's not April 1st yet.
Weird? Physically possible?
I guess "Q" might have tied one in a knot.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

The PS isn't working for me - its comping up as APS - is that the same?

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Hmmm  The CD didn't work either.  Perhaps it takes a while for these to get into the DryDock?

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Make sure you put in the 1 (or whatever number). Like, FR1 not FR.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

<LOL>  I just put it in as you described and it worked perfectly.  100% Blond here...  Thanks to you, Paul & Cricket.
Y'all rock.
Here is a DN that has CD arc on it... 8-)

NAME:  USS TEXAS

BeowulfJB TEXAS-class DN (30March2012)  (480)
ARMOR [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_][_] [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_] [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_]
HULL [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_][_] [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_] [_][_][_][_][_]
[_][_]
THRUST [4][3][2][1][1] WEAPONS [_][1][2][3][4]
ECM [_][_][_][_][_] SHIELDS [_][_][_][_][_]
Fire Control; Long Range Sensors

WEAPONS ARCS RANGE ATTACK DICE                                               -4   -6   -8 -10
14 Inch Plasma Cannon (Acr/Dx2) [FX3][CD5][AX3] 6-12-18   10 7 5 4 3 2 1 1 1 0 0 0
5 Inch Laser Cannon (Acr) [TT] 6-12-18                                  4 3 2 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 0

How does this design look to everyone?

PS: Another proposal for another arc:  The opposite ot TR, which is like a FXX; Call it TL (turret limited) to represent weapons with a 300 degree arc around the stern, an AXX.  After this, I (sort of) promise to ask for No More new arcs.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

I'm still trying to understand how it works and what to type in order to create something.
But first of all, how do you create your own directory?

Login! That will make a directory for you. Then design/save away.

Adding to shipyard and graphic, any others I have missed?

That's what I did, but it made such system errors :

Warning: opendir(designs/madpax/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /hermes/bosweb26b/b2207/ipg.mj12gamescom/starmada/drydock/action_load.php on line 77

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

I am modifying my designs to give them the flavor I like, but to reduce the cost.  This involves deleting the Dx2, and adding a few more weapons to the main battery.  This will reduce the cost and will also make the main battery more effective in an AA mode.
I was going to change the secondary battery to "Scatter Guns"; the name is from the Compendium.  I tried to give them the three weapon abilities {Accurate, Guided & Carronade}  The Acr, & Gid were added to the ship design by the DryDock program, but it would Not add on the Crn.  Is there a limit to how many Weapon traits a ship may have?
Also, when designing a ship today, the program would Not add on Long Range Sensors.  The way I got that on was to modify an older design that had Long Range sensors.
Any Ideas on what to do?

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

AFAIK, carronade has disapeared.

As Marc has said, Carronade, along with Long Range Sensors, have been deleted.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

Having a little trouble with fighter traits, here. The acronym Tgh (for Tough) doesn't seem to register. Anyone else having this difficulty? All the other traits I tried worked out fine.

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

I have been designing a Federation Constitution class CA.  I want to use Scatter[SCR] for the Phaser Ones (which I call Large Phasers) as a weapon trait, but when I do it, the Scr does not appear in the weapon trait place.  Has this Weapon Trait been deleted or am I doing something wrong?  I figure that this weapon trait would be best for phasers.  Photon torpedoes will have Piercing & Dx3.  So far, this Fed CA is hull 13, thrust=5, Shields 4...
Will post when finished.

Scatter is "SCT".

Re: Discuss The Drydock!

0k, Thanks.  I printed out the Starmada  Nova Edition  Quick Reference Sheet and it has Scr as the abbreviation for Scatter.  Will note Sct as the correct one.
I Thank you and the Constitution class Fed CAs thank you. 8-)
