Yes, here we are, the ships that time forgot, and who can blame them? The ships that, while dreadnoughts in their day, are now not fit even for a really desperate pirate (okay, an exaggeration, but no admiral would be seen dead in one)

Notes:

The Hradusian Feudal Territories, when they first ventured into space, were even more fractured than they are today and the first vessels that went into space were essentially sub-orbital vessels designed to land back on the surface, usually behind an enemy's front line, and deposit several hundred troops. Then the nation that would eventually become the Imperial family, uniting the Hradusians into something approaching a single entity, brought the Hrizol into play. Typically operated by a member of the nobility known as a Baronet (hence the name 'baronetship'), the Hrizol had powerful weapons and some defensive measures, pitiful by today's standards but at that time were far better than the assault transports of the day. Within a year the Hradusians had churned out their own Hrizols, but the Imperial family were already on their way to superiority.

The Hrizav was the Imperial family's next ship to come from the shipyards. This vessel was equipped with the first hyperdrive seen on a hull, and was typically reserved for Viscounts. The improvements on the Hrizol were longer-ranged weapons which allowed it to hit the enemy at better ranges

Even at the low tech end of the scale, the best way to project combat power is to field some fighters. Even if they are slow and in small groups.

The Harloc-Kians went in for heavy ships even when they were only in their own star system. One of these vessels tended to be the entire fleet of minor houses.

The Soonakha was the primary patrol boat in the early days of the Sheemakha. Armed with weapons normally found on tanks and aircraft of the day, it nevertheless performed adequately in its roles as a defence, patrol and customs unit

As Emiricol offered up a challenge, I took him up on it. Well, he didn't really, but when he said about a tender-based navy I had a go. The large ship isn't a frontline unit, but I've designed it so that you could, feasibly, use this as a combat unit it you needed to. However, its typical role is as explorer, with sheer size and a host of fighters and three attack boats on board to allow it to give out some punishment should first contact go south. I'd recommend a pair of these with a full maintenance group of tenders...:)
