I'll say! The pictures are a liiiittle bit tiny, even when enlarged, butman is it sweet to see them painted up! Excellent work, Mr. Drage!  big_smile

I believe all of the errata are incorporated now, as well as Josh's *awesome* Fall of Kalanid pic.

I'll just pipe in real quick here - the changes indeed basically incorporate ALL the errata and, yes, my humble illustration of the Fall Of Kalanid.

And possibly also some player stat sheets, though those may have already been in there... its been awhile, now, I can't recall.

I kinda like the color as is. smile

Me too, but in the book, it can only be greyscale, so the tinge of brown won't be in it

Wish I had that kind of talent.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment!

Ok, I am done at last... here it is! This is a colour version - the actual printed pic won't have that brownish tinge to it. Thats just from the type of markers I use. Sorry its much smaller, but the file size would be too large otherwise.

Nice. I love the lines on the power armour. Although, the corpse isn't really in grotesque enough disarray for my tastes, and I am compelled to ask if maybe there could be a couple more phase-spiders, for more of a seething swarming look?

Yeah, I know I'm "not right". It is beautiful work Josh.

Actually, you are quite right, Sam! I was concerned that I didn't include enough Phase Spiders in the image to depict that "seething swarming" aspect of the story. I didn't want to mess up the composition too much by drawing a virtual "sea" of critters, so I tried to compensate by adding a few splattered spider bodies...

I wish I could show off the final, but there is a tiny little patch of real estate in the pic that needs some attention yet. I have been working like a fiend this week at my job [23hrs in the past 2 days alone], but I hope to get back at the art this weekend!

Well, its certainly a good thing for him to concentrate on his family like that when he is needed. I wish him only the best...

Perhaps he will still do the Defiance minis as a freelance project at some point, as mentioned in the first portion of the announcement on the website.

Impressive work, as always.

How's the A Modest Proposal comic coming along, BTW?

Thanks for the compliments.  As for the comic, I presently have 3 pages of rough sketches with dialogue done, and have started some rough work on a fourth page.  So, not much there yet, but I did do the 3rd & 4th pages fairly recently, so i haven't stopped working on it!

Nice.

Did this come from setting/story or from a specific game session?

Its from a short story [which is excellent, BTW] that appears in the Defiance Vital Ground rulebook [it starts on page 149]. I reserved a place to put in this pic once I had finished it [see page 155 - there is a box with a simple graphic in it saying "image not available". Soon, there will be! smile ]

Hey everyone,

I thought you all might like to see the pic I am working on... It is meant to accompany the short story "The Fall Of Kalanid" by Justin from D:VG.
I still have to add in a lot of rendering before its done.

i just checked the rpgnow site, it lists defiance as 35.4 mb. the dl i have is 33,884 kb. should i email rpgnow, cause my email addy hasn't changed in years ?? how will the update work ??

thanks.

you may want to hold out just a little longer - I have an art pic nearly done that will be inserted into the layout, as well as a recently discovered bit of errata to correct, and then the file will be updated [hopefully] one last time. I hope to have my end of it done by the end of next week, as a rough timeline. smile

Indeed, they kick serious but!!! Geez, I shoulda replied to THIS a long time ago! Wow, good mini's made from my character designs! How cool is that?! I cannot wait to get some...

BTW, Demian if you are still out there [haven't heard from you in a while!], did you get my Officer variant sketches?

Thanks for showing the pic. It's a nice design and the sort that I'd expect to find the ATs toting, but for some reason it doesn't resemble a ram's head... My conversion probably won't either, tho.

Yeah there is no Ram's Head resemblance because, IIRC it was meant to be another weapon that actually wasn't even a "launcher" weapon after all - a misunderstanding on my part at the time.

I was thinking of re-doing this pic with a slightly larger end that would resemble Demians more recent suggestion of subtle patterns that suggest horns... but its low on the priority sheet right now - gotta do other defiance related work first

Tended to think of a rough-and-ready functional sort of weapon myself, as it would not fit too well with the Assault Trooper imagery to have them lug around something baroque (and possibly skull-, spike- and chain-encrusted ).

Here's a pic of a discarded weapon design from the Ascendance book that may work as a Ram's Head Launcher. Don't know if Demian is keen on it or not, but I thought I'd put it out there...

Sorry, no skulls/chains/spikes on this guy

got it printed at Kinko's

Ah - I suppose the present PDF has the colour cover as the first page of the file, with the inner title page immediately following it... in order for a print out to come out properly at, say, Kinko's, there needs to be a blank page inserted between the cover page & the title page.

That way the page number & descriptive tabs would be on the outer margins where they should be! Hmmm...

jim a.

Uhm, the book was designed to have the page numbers appear on the outer edge of the pages... do you have a printed copy from rpgnow, or have you printed and bound your own copy? Just curious - if you bought it like that, there is definitely somethin' wrong...   sad

But i believe CZ and myself were both asking about the actual "book" PDF, with all the errata already added in. Will we have to purchase it again to get the "corrected" version ??

Once an updated PDF is finished, the revision will be sent for free to all those who purchased it via RPGNow. For obvious reasons, revised hard copies cannot be provided for free... smile

I actually have a newer, corrected pdf of the book ready, but Demian just piled on another short list of errata... sad

So, unless Dan wants to make my current pdf available now [Dan, I'll need your Fetch info again], y'all just have ta wait a bit longer

I ended up getting a G3 "snow" iMac - 500mHz [any mac user knows that is comparable to 1GHz in a PC], 384MB ram, 60GIG for $450 Can. Not too shabby for a quick fix! And, I have finally entered the realm of OS X  users [I got Panther]! wee!

As for the e23 site, I am so happy to see it in action! I should have an errata-corrected pdf of Defiance ready very soon!  big_smile

No Defiance?

I sent over the above two products to start with; Defiance will be next on the list -- I wanted to give Josh as much time as possible to get the errata fixed...

That'll be delayed a bit - my computer died last week! I am hoping to have a newer one by the weekend.

Glad to see a new and excellent selling outlet materializing for mj12, though!!!

I'll let you know when I am back in action!

Hey Dan, when I am able to redo the Defiance cover [have you read my private email regarding my computer woes yet?], should i just make it fit 8.5 x 11 instead of 8.25 x 10.75? Save us all some trouble?
