After the service of my long time host when to the crapper, I moved my sites to TMDhosting.com and the last 8 months have been fine and any issues have been handled quickly.

They haven't had any of the usage limit issues I had with the old host and they say they are experts with phpBB.
Plus they are less expensive than my old host.

Star Ranger's sight had a tutorial on this at one point.

My barrel clasp and tubing basing method is outlined here:
http://www.star-ranger.com/BasingMinis.htm

It is a bit involved for some but it has worked out well for me.  I am experimenting with rare-earth magnets with similar supplies and if that works I'll post a similar tutorial.

Ninja Magic has made some magnetic adapters that are really slick and do 90% of the work for you, they just are a bit expensive.

Some people just make sure the fit is tight and remove the mini for storage and transport, all up to you.

If you like the old AOG B5Wars bases, you can still get them (the former owner of AOG still sells old stock bought back from distributors on the old AOG Store site) http://www.agentsofgaming.com/oshop.htm  The bases are under B5Wars Misc Minis.  ADB also sell these bases.

Other companies sell bases too, Brigade Models, GW, GZG, ADB, etc

Where do you get these, a Liquor Store? I can get a lot of beers at the local Wally-mart, but don't venture out much to the (somewhat out of the way) Liquor Store. I can occasionally get Sake at the Asian Gorocery Stores...

We have "Package Stores" here, but the "Buckle in the Bible Belt" isn't the best-served place to buy spirits...they're comparatively rare given the size of the town I live in - anyone in Fort Worth?

Anyone know where I can find a Strohs? I could find it all over the place in the late 70's in Chicago...

According to beeradvocate.com, the best beer stores in the DFW area are the  Central Markets and Majestic Liquors.

Stroh's Brewing when under in 1999 and the label was sold to Pabst Brewing, and according to Pabst's website, they don't distribute Stroh's to Texas.

Currently in my fridge:
Summit Scandia (Belgian Wit)
Surly Furious (American IPA)
Surly Bender (American Brown Ale)
Bells Hop Slam (Imperial IPA)
New Glarus Belgian Red (Belgian Sour beer with lots of Cherries)
New Glarus Bourbon Barrel Aged Dopplebock
Avery Czar Imperial Stout

(other than space games my other hobby is homebrewing and beer judging, I am a BJCP.com certified beer judge)

So, MJ12 is replacing SFB?

Not replacing, ADB has decided to let other game systems 'share' their Star Fleet Universe.

Sorry to let the cat out of the bag Dan, but there have been hints on the ADB forum for months so I was surprised nothing had been said about this over here before this.

Some people over at their forums have some questions about Starmada so people might want to take a look over there too.

....I think FT's implementation is better, subject to the caveat that our house-rules do not permit manoevring thrusters to do anything but turn or roll the ship (FT's "thruster push" rule is ridiculous IMHO; I just don't believe in manoevring thrusters capable of delivering half the acceleration of the main drive!).

Actually FT Fleet Book 2 adds a suggested revision to vector movement that thruster pushes are limited to a maximum of 1 thrust point.

rb1956 wrote:

An issue our group has discussed a fair bit is the "sit and spin" problem. FT's vector rules allow a ship to turn from any heading to any other by burning one Thrust Point (TP). As a result, even the most sluggish armoured behemoth can spin as nimbly on its axis as the speediest frigate, and bring even single arc weapons to bear on any chosen bearing. That doesn't really feel right, and we've experimented with adopting the Turn-a-TP-for-each-arc-turned approach. That means, for example, that Thrust 2 dreadnaughts take two turns to reverse their heading, and gives an incentive to fit them with multi-arc weapons to counter nimbler opponents.

Whenever the next edition of FT comes out,  you will probably see another update to vector movement rules so that for each point of thrust used for rotation, will rotate the ship up to 2 clock facings, not to any direction they want.  This will make thrust 2 DNs much harder to get on target, just like your change.

Dan, was that the Anti-Spam ACP mod referenced here:
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=399374 as that is the one I loaded and it has worked well so far for my forum.  28 registrations blocked so far and nothing bogus let through.
