TR is the arc use in starfire I like that.

One of the things I was hopping to do with starmada is to lower the number of ships because when playing the game you easly  out number any of the stories and you ability to keep track of what going on so fewer ships would be one of the goals.

Thank you Mikeaxe,Nomad, and Vandervecton I was having a hard time explaining things and all of you help.  I have put my project on tempary hold while waiting for the new edition of Starmada but one of the thing I like about it was once I have a good ecc conversion I can create differnt tech style for deffernt starfire games.

you want a game the encurage combat than Starfire your game.  the main issiue with the current version of starfire is the system and ship construction rules Starmada fixes that.  Income and resource allowcation is done with an free excel spread sheet.  I have play all version of starfire and my group major problem is keeping people from jumping ahead. VBAM just does not make any sence to many game ran political rules.  I like the ideal of addption starmada for starfire because I believe that the ship construction and combat will solve many of the current problems.  anyone wants to talk about it and help me with it can cantact me at the "starfire Starmada project " on facebook.  I await the new edition because from what has been said it may solve some of my problems

Dan,
I know that you worked with VBAM for the empire level to add to Starmada but have you ever thought or using Starfire for the Empire level?  I do think the it is a better choice as it is both more comprehensive and more fully developed that what I have see with VBAM.  It is also more complex also.

well I thought for movement I would use the opt rule for movement points.  that seems to be the same as starfire.  as for missiles I pick up a suggestion that point defense could be ruled to give a -1 to the to hit but I thought maybe it would be better if point defense gives a -1 to penetration  instead.  I am doing missiles as a direct fire weapon instead of a seeker.  the only thing is I am not sure if that would still be a .9 mod or if it should be a .8 mod.  I think i will set up the tech tree as a 30 step tree with weapons gaining abilities instead of getting smaller.  I agree that you can not completely starfire the system but I think I make it work with the Imperial level of the game.

Thank you for the impute now here is another a weapon mod not a battery mod that lets the weapon target all but one arc.  think of it as a missile that fly fast enough that it is a direct fire weapon not a seeker.  but it still tracks it just can't track thru the engine exhaust.  so a 300 deg arc.

I need a Mod for a weapon that is affected by point defense?  I do not want to use the seeking weapons rules.  also I would like suggestions on how the increment point defense?

I just got Starmada and I am planing on using it to replace the ship design and combat rules in Ultra Starfire.  The goal is to use starfire's economics but setting up a tech tree and ship building using Starmada.    My first thought is choosing a system and using it for the base for figuring out cost.  I am also thinking about arc's  I am hoping to get a lot of ideals and bounce them back and forth on the forum.

You have been talking about a Strategic Starmada I have just started getting into Starmada in order to replace the ship building/combat and weapon tech for starfire's Strategic game.  I was wondering if anyone check this ideal out before and does it work well?  I think the warp point system in starfire would make's Strategic level movement challenging.
