The Bourbaki Basins have been restored from the previous forum. Again, sadly, any attachments are unavailable... hopefully those who posted them can reupload where appropriate.
Thanks!

Play nice. (This means you.)
Logins from the previous forum have been carried over; if you have difficulty logging in, please try resetting your password before contacting us. Attachments did not survive the migration--many apologies, but we're lucky we kept what we could!

You should be able to post in Starmada now. Not sure what happened to those permissions. You won't be able to post new topics in "News" as that is reserved for me.
Thanks for sharing! You might want to be sure your attachments contain a valid extension, though. I think this should be a JPG, no?
Good news: It's not dead and buried. It's about 60-70% complete.
Bad news: Life outside of gaming keeps getting in the way.
Which are you looking for, specifically?
Yeah... it was my fault. Apparently the old forum stored the attachments as random filenames without extensions. And when I FTP'd them to move to the new server, it didn't automatically use Binary mode, which corrupted the files.
I always thought the Italians were the prettiest of them all.
Whatcha workin' on? Gonna share with the class?
Posting a link to the current version of the Starmada Drydock Excel spreadsheet.
To stimulate discussion on a possible new edition, here is a download of the original version of the game from 20+ years ago. Enjoy!
In recent years, 3d printing has become de rigueur for starship miniatures players and collectors alike. I'm starting this thread to collect some of my favorite sources for STLs:
* Go0gleplex's seemingly inexhaustible supply of new fleets can be found at Cults3d: https://cults3d.com/en/users/Go0gleplex
* Charles Oines provides his take on numerous familiar-looking factions: https://coines23.gumroad.com/
* Martin Evans is slowly building out his "Space Battleship Hachiman" collection: https://www.myminifactory.com/users/martinevans1
What do you have?
Hey, all! As you can see, we are bringing back the discussion forum as a fresh installation. Sadly, due to our server migration, the old forum was unable to be salvaged.
However, you can also reach us and fellow players through a number of other platforms:

The calculation for light gun firepower is (projectile weight)^0.4
So, your 4# gun would have a value of 1.7 and your 9# gun would have a value of 2.4.
Is it planned to publish a supplement which contains stats for ships of the Scandinavian Federation?
Perhaps as a free download. I can't see getting a full product out of the Scandinavians.
That is correct. The firing arc is required to get the initial lock-on, but the target does not need to remain in that arc once the seekers are launched.
Marines just kinda "hang out" on the target ship, running around and causing mayhem. If you add more marines in subsequent turns (or the target ship loses more hull boxes due to damage) you may end up capturing the ship.
The ORAT and DRAT are used to compute the combat rating (CRAT), which is used to balance forces. Generally speaking, two fleets with equivalent CRAT totals should have a "fair fight".
So, I have lost access to my Facebook account. I am in the process of developing a new persona, but unless there is a major change in how "Meta" handles such situations, the existing Majestic Twelve Games FB page will go defunct. (I guess it's my fault for never designating a co-moderator... )

The rule in question is referencing the target ship's hull size.
Hello, and welcome to the forum!
As an off-the-cuff response, I would do the following:
Assume Fwd is worth 3, P/S are worth 2 each, and Aft is worth 1. This means the standard primary arrangement has a value of 6 (3/2+2+2+1/2). If you wanted to have an arrangement of Fwd/P/S full and Aft nothing, this has a value of 7. So you'd increase space by 17% (7/6). If you had an arrangement of Fwd 0, Port 1/2, Stbd 1/2, Aft 0, you'd decrease space by 67% (2/6).
My apologies for the delay in response to this...
You should receive a PDF download link immediately upon ordering. If you did not, please contact us.
I'm sorry, no. The Drydock has only been tested on Excel.
