what the heck is a kaijun?
I assume you don't mean "Kaijun Luo. Postdoctoral Scientist, Insect Cell Biology and Immunology" even tho she's kinda cute in an Asian sorta way...

I've three ALMOST done things on, and can't seem to get out of the quagmire to actually DO anything about them...

Aces at dawn is a card game system? I thought it was more a "Blue Max" type of boardgame. Is it like wings of war from ffg?
As for the masses, I understand that it's a fantasy game where you build units with several minis in a base stand, and though I understand the logic of the system it never was something I particulary liked.
<GASP!> I'm completely astounded that someone would NOT like FtM?
No problem there, can't please all the people all the time. But try it out with any minis you have, somewhere, even, there's non-hex-based rules you can try., it's really about moving units of figures against units of figures. You can use 25mm minis as well as 15mm...
as far as AAD, the movement system is card-based, that's what I was trying to say. It's a great little game to play and you can get through 3 games in an afternoon so give it a go.
I'd say Aces at Dawn if you want a fun card-based system
and For the Masses for great fantasy fun
there's a couple other too, but I forget which ones they are
okay, I think I've said this before, but
If it's a balance problem, up the cost of them. Problem fixed. make em worth double what they are now and you halve the number of fighters on the field.
no advanced physics required. (it's already hard enough to teach people to play without having to go into space-o-dynamics)
Simple, but not simplistic, right?

At least, I don't THINK I did... :?:
I didn't do anything, either
My mom was visiting over the holidays, my tongue is sore - as is my butt....
because you were bad and she spanked you?
In no particular order...

Yeah...I'm not asking for a prize, just making a comment.
you're not eligible anyway...:D
the contest wasn't about what it SHOULD be, but what it IS
A winner!
Give that man a cookie!
Because a pool of dice against fighters would change the cost as well?
I don't think we're really dealing with the problem here. Fighters are too tough.
Is this still a problem with AE? I haven't honestly played enough to determine that. However, I'd suggest we bring back the old AFB which effectively "fires" during the fighter phase by killing fighters when they roll a "1" to hit. I always thought that was a very elegant way to do it. more powerful AFBs can be built by changing the number to a "2" and doubling the modifier.
I wouldn't adjust it any more than that.
Since ranks are determined by the number of posts, and there's apparently a super-secret formula for how to determine who gets which rank, I've decided to start a contest to determine exactly how Dan determined the breaking points for the ranks.
please submit to this thread your guesses, educated or otherwise, and we'll figure out a suitable reward at a later date, the contest ends at 11:59 pm 1/9/2008.
That is all.
Hey, I almost forgot, my furnace went out yesterday...called the man and had him come out for a look-see. it has a bad valve, and they can't get one 'till tomorrow. Oh well. the boys get to camp out in the living room and I get to climb into a 59° bed. It's all good tho.
Damn fine day nonetheless. Thank God I have a fireplace.
Well, I went over 24 hours without logging in.
I think this is a new record for me.
I got a red scarf, Ashley's Book of Knots, a backpacking book, and a cool blue mat to sleep on in the cold boy scout campouts (the puppy pretty much chewed the edges clean off my new mat about 20 seconds after I opened it too). Plus some other miscellaneous stuff. No clothes to speak of (yay! my wife is cool).
But most importantly, I got to spend the whole day with just my family. Not my Brother-in-law or my brother, just me, the wife, and the three boys.
Damn fine Christmas, and I repeat: Peace on Earth, Good will to all.
And have many happy days in the new year!
Peace on Earth... Good Will To All!
I checked the settings and they're suppsed to show inline, at leat that's what I think
"Inline images" TRUE/false

Why do these images not show up inline?

WE are his fleet!
Toot toot! aooogah!
I wouldn't delete anything.
I think Jim's just kvetching...
Actually, I'm referring to the rules of posting.
You'll notice that I take a pretty heavy hand on the discussion on these boards, there's plenty of space over on the Starmada board for discussing... er... Starmada stuff
Don't delete anything... I'm trying to figure out if I care or not... at this point I do not care.
OOps,
I didn't that's why I saw them
I want Icons that are obvious that there's a new post.
I want a shutdown on idiotic signatures.
everything else I can do without (except of course the breasts, I like those)
Like the new Icons
um, nevermind, I had to be logged in to see the new posts icon... duh!
Still can't tell which have new posts or not... ??
um, these aren't Drake notation?
but I don't know how I feel about that.
