Using the shipyard spreadsheet it is already possible to group a few weapons in an arc.
This got me to thinking of the possibility to include the choice of weapon banks from the compendium.
At the moment grouped weapons are still costed as individuals. The compendium had an additional modifier according to the number of weapons in the bank:-

Weapons / Mod
2 / 1.4
3 / 1.7
4 / 2

Would this modifier still be used for Starmada X?
If so, I may be able to do a re-write for this to be taken into account when 2,3 or 4 weapons are grouped together.

I think that you will find that the SXCA and the shipyard version give correct figures.
I have not seen a read-me file for the SXCA but I did a simple walkthrough for the shipyard. It is in the SXCA thread at the bottom of this Starmada page.
I did notice that in the written ship details, the designer has the firing arcs match the hex sides rarther than the Starmada firing arcs (but then it seems that most other games do).

This looks to me like the Advanced ECM (10%SU)/ECM Slave Unit (5%SU) combo.

Having just the Advanced ECM at a fixed SU which precludes it being put on small ships makes sense.

StarmadaX v1.0 gave the conversion for the Stingray Missile as:-
ROF1  PEN1  DMG1 No Range Modifiers.

I think that adding Ignores Shields would go some way to a better costing, as there is no "Totally ignorant" costing for weapons.

The spreadsheets do not multiply the OR Base by 10, also you have a higher figure in both OR and DR for the Special Equipment.

I have attached Shipyard v8.1 filled in for your Star Destroyer. You can see all of the calculations on this.
Take a look at the Tables page for the equipment included in the OR and DR calculations.
Note the Troop companies and vehicle bays are seperate entries, you could make a note of the company ID's on the Starmada printout. 4 basic flights entered on the fighter sheet.
If you wish these to be Interceptors, you will have to change the fighter type on the Nation sheet, this will add 40SU to the total.
Hope this helps.

The planet Bajor.
Panic in the streets. What can be wrong?
The Spaceballs are coming!
Mega Maid is on the way. Only the Kira class ship Phwoor can save the planet. One maid to battle another.
I'd be interested to see what stats you can come up with for this scenario, should the Mega Maid's atmospheric vac be a mega tractor beam?

Try out the Shipyard v8 below, I have been using OpenOffice to update it so it will work with OpenOffice and Excel.
It does include some items from earlier Starmada versions and VBAM so just use those from the Starmada version that you use.

The above template seems to be for A Call to Arms counters. I always put acta in the counter title to show this.
I must admit I usually make my counters FT style and keep a Starmada template which can then be laid over it as a new layer. Then rub out the center revealing the ship graphic below before merging them together.

Anyhow here is a Starmada template, Use fill in a paint prog to change the Blue to any colour you wish.

ps If you are using 1" counters, they look best if the ship graphic is at about 300 pixels on it's longest dimension.

Have you tried making your own disks?

I decided a while ago that the floorboards would not stand up to the weight of any more miniatures so changed over to counters where possible.

Best to keep the counters above 355x350 pixels (changing to 500x500 which look good printed at 1" or 1.5"). Keep the counters that you make as .bmp (.jpg files loose a bit of detail each time they are worked on and saved).

Printed on "Scratchproof" photographic card and fixed to thicker card of 1.5mm thickness, although this could be as thick as needed. Some black marker pen around the edge to finish off.

Counters (or Disks) are also handy if anyone does not have room for a table. Add magnetic strip under them and put a magnetic white board on the wall. Also works for 1/6000 model ships, Naval not Space.

The only drawback is finding or making the artwork. But almost anything is possible without having to wait for a model, See attached file.

The last shipyard update that I posted is in the "Shipyard v8" topic.
This is the Shield/Screen and KEB versions with Three batteries only (Five battery version was requested for Babylon 5).
These have a Fighter sheet added.

Thanks, I have updated the sheets. I kept the EDT Drive calculations seperate, forgot to change P5.
For anyone not wishing to download the sheets again:-
On the Template sheet, P5 should be =+$AT$33-$AU$210

By the way, the Fighter sheet is not linked to the others so you can copy it to any other spreadsheet you use. Or as a new spreadsheet in its' own.

VBAM Stats Added.
New, Fighters Sheet.
Any suggestions (Clean Ones) or errors?

May I be the first to wish everyone a Happy Christmas. Too early? It will be here and gone before you know it!

27th Nov. EDT SU fixed.

This is part of the VBAM Campaign rules crossover.

Intended for Fleet leaders, increases the Command Rating.

Although, perhaps for Starmada it could increase the fleets fighters chances of interception and survival in dogfights?

Hi Tommy

Pithy? No. Just that you were asking if it could be done.
I take note of things that I might add to these spreadsheets.
Most of the updates i have made have come about from questions on the forum.
Recently there have been questions about scouts with different levels of ECM. As this is in the rules, Advanced ECM and ECM slave unit are already in the Special Equipment list. Along with Three levels of active sensors and passive sensors.
Good to know that they are of use.

A few things added.
Spinal Mount ranges now show on ship sheets (ok aglass man?)
A couple of weapon mods from StarmadaX version 1.0.
Auto-Repair Systems from V1.0 for Berserker (no crew) ships.
I think that these now cover just about everything up to VBAM, and some things from VBAM.

Re Double Hull Damage.

This was in version 1 of the rules dated 22 January 2004 but not in version 2 dated 23 October 2004.
Less effective than Extra Hull Damage as the extra hull hit was inflicted on a damage die roll of 1 or 6.
However the modifier was less, 1.6 compared to that of the Extra Hull Damage of 3.0. (The Extra Hull Damage modifier was 4.0 in version 1, reduced to 3.0 in Version 2.)

I had trouble with the weapons maths until I remembered to add the +1 to the ROF in the calculations. So the ROF for ROF 1 is actually ROF 2.
Cannot seem to get the weapon SU to double! You do not say where exactly.
aglass man asked for help, this may be of use.

The OpenOffice .ods versions are no longer on the Shipyard thread.
They are in .xls but when i added the bits that were requested I have used OpenOffice 2.0. So are still compatible.
Here are the last four versions that I posted:-
Starmada X
Starmada X KEB version
Babyon 5
Babylon 5 KEB version

Are you using the last Babylon 5 shipyard?
If so, what are the bugs?
In which equipment?

Nahuris

I do not know which spreadsheet you are using but you could re write it the way that I did the shipyard.

That way, with each type of equipment having its own tech level, Hangers can be equipment. The cost of the hanger can stay constant.

And there I was thinking that there would not be any!

American Government Press release:-
There was no Invasion.
There are no martians.
It was a weather balloon.

Of course several years later .  .  .stealth ships!

Some equipment added from older versions of Starmada.
ROF NOT CHANGED. Who would have thought that one little question could cause so much debate!
My last posting for the Shipyard - Will now leave well alone.
