Hey, thanks for this ideas. Based on them, I converted most ships from the first ship compendium.
The slw on the missile launchers is perhaps a remnant from my time with B5 ACTA. Also, I needed something to make the LR Racks of the upcoming o-sats something special. To tell the truth, I quite not in the BAS thing presently. For me, it feels a bit like the old rof, but only contribution dice.
Unless mistaken, raking weapons like laser are Rpt?
Yes, presently they are. I'm still looking for something to make them more like a beam. Also, I quite not sure how to make a particle cannon significantly different to a medium laser .

So I finally got my hands on the new Nova Edition. As much has changed, I still presently assessing how to convert some weapons, especially most of the heavy beam weapons who used to be raking. Therefore, I present you the first few ships of my conversion. Please comment them and my take on the weapons.

You could either shut off the jammer for the game or go without the molecular pulsars. Both did not work back in B5W. And if the Laser was destroyer the jammer would go offline as the laser would still use its power. Strange, but it worked this way. Also, from a fluff point of view, the WS was created fighting Firts Ones. Why use a Jammer which would be ignored by them (granted you would not take them after beating them in the face to conquer the whole galaxie. How new? )
Just a question on the conversion of the Whitestar. Why does it have stealth? Is it based on the one from B5 Wars, which was never able to power the jammer and the neutron laser at the same time? Perhaps simply removing stealth may help a bit. Call me a heretic, but using a jammer against a foe (mainly shadows, but later vorlons too) which both simply ignored it according to B5W makes no sense to me.
I opened a new threat and uploaded them. The files work now.
Welcome to the forums and to Starmada. For your information, there are several B5 conversions in the file section, based on B5 Wars, ActA among other things. Perhaphs you can look there for some ideas?
I've had some time now to browse some forums. It seems that the new reaser in its present version has problems opening some older pdf-files. It takes much longer.
So, :cry: nothing until now. I already tried reinstalling but the problem is still there.
Hello, I installed Adobe Reader 10.1 .0. After installing, most of my pdf files work as normal. Just some, including the Starmada books open very slowly. At first glance it seems if the Reader crashed, but after 10 or so seconds it opens the file :? . When I'm then in Adobe 10 it opens as fast as usual.
Do you have any idea why this happens or if this can be corrected`

As a side node, fighter exclusive on the other hand does not grand that much advantage and not even cancels the additional difficulty for shooting at fighters. Perhaps this could also be adjusted?
Sorry to do some threat necromancy here, but has there been a clarification on making two turns in the same direktion and making a u-turn altogether? Presently they are identical although a u-turn enables for an extra facing change.
Or is this intentional?

What is your general idea of the ships you will play with? Piercing +3 as well as Ignores Shields make the shield value of 2 on your destroyer somewhat usesless and only shield values of 5 or better would offer any defense at all. Also, as it seems, you are using mainly turreted weapons. Perhaps a restriction in arc but more weapons would be usefull taking into account weapons going offline due to damage.
Please note that only equipment is noted that will effect dogfight. Torpedoes are not involved by now.

Yeah, I used the stats from wcsaga and wcnews to come near the weapons, but I'm a bit unsure of rof.
Yeah, that's when I have time I'll post the remaining ConFed and Kilrathi fighters. Odd enought, the Hellcat should have had Hull 6. I'll correct that. Oddly enough, the Hellcat is only 1 ton heavier than an Arrow but 6 ton lighter than a Thunderbolt VII. :?
