Good luck and God speed Sarge. A couple of HG players just got back from Iraq a few months ago. Stay safe. You can always do some RPGing while you're over there. I hear there are quite a few gamers in the sandbox.
It's not the only place to get them but they offer the best bang for teh buck. The only other place to get them is Em4miniatures, but they sell them in a pack of five for 2.50 pounds ($4.13 US) Red Shirt sells a pack of 30 for $20 even after you factor in the shipping it's still cheaper.
right there with you sarge. I got a bad feeling about C:SO. LUCKILY there's Wardogs.
yeap and the guns can be put where ever you want them. (meant to take a pick but forgot) they're a decent quality too. If you have the Catalyst games CBT Intro set, I'd say that the plastic is of higher quality.
apologies for the delay. I finally fished out that mini and here are some pics. hope these are helpful.

lol yeah, i'm my gaming groups resident mecha junkie. 80% of the anime I watch is mecha.
Deadliest Warriors was on yesterday and I had to share. I know Wardogs could handle these.
Inner Sphere (BT) vs Templars (CAV)
Kenema Gear Police vs Patlabor
Red Shoulders vs Black Talons
08th MS Team vs Kat Killer 5
SDF 1 vs White Base
Melkian Empire vs Draconis Combine
JSSDF (Gasaraki) vs Mithral
any other suggestions?
I have one. (I got it as a bonus from a ebay purchase) I can take a couple of pics if you like. The quality isn't too shabby. Not for the price anyway. ($30 for the set including shipping)
maybe a Steele Warriors box in the meantime?
Well they definitely look like that one image from the book where you have all of those tasty 3d models.
Nice!!! what scale? I"m assuming CBT or 1/300th
http://privateerpress.com/company/-voltron-game-contents-announced
would Voltron be covered under the transformables rules? sorry couldn't resist.
PS:- is this a supplement/ sourcebook or a 2nd edition of the rules?
I think the most basic difference is scale of play. Defiance AFIAK is designed for 20mm-30mm figs where as War Dogs is designed for 10/15mm and lower. I'm getting into 6mm myself so of course my vote is for War Dogs. The robust vehicle design system allows you to design a balanced army the way that you want. If you want mechs, you can have mechs, but if you have a buddy that's not into giant robos they can do that too. Basically, if you want to to Gear Krieg, but you have a friend that isn't into the walkers. You could still do an alternate history WWII game with one army that doesn't have Walker tech.
Don't worry about hand carried weapons. Each model will get a selection of about 4-5 weapons to choose from (about 2-3 rifles and 1 or 2 heavy weapons).
I know that Wardogs is supposed to be compatible with Starmada, but if you were only using the Wardogs rules, could you do a mecha space dogfighting game. I ask because I've recently discovered Gundam 1/400 minis and would love to do a game in Wardogs. I downloaded the Gundam rules, but wasn't impressed at first glance. I of course thought of Wardogs. (With so many options I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the game.)
ironically enough i do have money in the budget to get some 6mm buildings, but i realize everyone may not like urban games. and then there's the question that always confronts my wallet when i consider getting terrian... terrain.. or more minis. delimas. delimas.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll stick with the maps for now. I've got enough to mix and match maps and keep the games interesting terrainwise.
I really want to introduce new players to wargaming (Wardogs in particular) and I'm not sure which way to go. Which works better for Wardogs? Maps or terrain. I have a bunch of Maps (about 20 or so) so the players wouldn't get bored with seeing the same thing over and over. On the other hand, I don't have much in the way of terrain. Should I stick with maps or give terrian a go?

YOU SAID IT OUT LOUD YOU HAVE TO DO IT!!! **runs**
Here you go! This is just a shortlist, but here's a list of Combat Walker minis that would be perfect for Wardogs.
28mm:
AT-43
Urban War
15mm:
Gear Krieg
10mm:
CAV
Heavy Gear
Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction
6mm:
Battletech
Rogue Legion
Dirt Side II and here
Future Wars (see the middle of the page DF-W01/ DFW02)
Mecha Carnage
Brigade Models Cronus Mechs(doesn't appear to be available for sale any more)
Dark Realm
Heavy Gear Fleet Scale
Jovian Chronicles
Meck Wars
Gauntlet Mecha (Only one model but it is rather neat looking)
I know I probably missed some stuff, but I figured you'd get a kick out of it. especially if you've ever wanted to build your own massive mech force.
What could be better than Monsterpocolpse dont the right way??
OOHH OOH I know. How about rules for giant monsters ala King Kong or Godzilla?
I was refering to possibility of the surface to space weapons. The Dynames in one episode shot at a spaceship in orbit around the Earth. Would it be possible to have something like that? You would be able to sort of do counterbattery on ortillery.
Any chance of being able to port a Gundam Dynames type mecha into the game.
I found out about Wardogs a few weeks ago. After finally getting thru most of the demo rules, I've made plans to get the printed book. I have many Giant Robo rulebooks in my collection and Wardogs is definitely on my must snag list. After playing CAV, I was estatic to see lock on rules. I really love the fact that Wardogs appears to let you make any kind of mecha your heart desires which lets you play Battlemechs vs CAVs vs Mobile Suits vs Gears. (unless I missed something) At any rate, when I saw this post, I instantly thought of my collection imiatation Gashpons. They were 50 cents a pop and I ended up taking about 8 bucks in quarters and dumping them into the machine. I haven't seen any of the machines around any more so I started looking online to see if maybe I could find some on ebay. Anywho, I stumbled on a site that had them here. http://www.specialtystoreservices.com/product.aspx?category=3231&link= They are really neat and look like they could be painted up pretty easily, but I leave mine unpainted to keep they're gashpon feel. As far as scale, They're probably closer to 6mm. They fit in well with Battlemechs or Exo Armors (Jovian Chronicles, think mobile suits). In comparison to CAVs, They're almost as tall as a Vanquisher (by that I mean the cockpits are almost level.) Unfortunately, the only way to get one or two to see if you like them is to luck out and get them from a vending machine from a dollar store or supermarket.
