I've done opponents where I draw randomly. I know it ends up being really dumb maneuvers, but...

Hmm. muskets would be big tough ranged weapons, about a crossbow's worth, eh?

Pistols would be slightly higher accuracy

Pistols are easier than muskets, I'd say maybe d12/8 or 2d8/8

Muskets may require a slow-firing type ability where you must expend two actions to fire.

but they'd be the same as pistols as far as dice and perhaps slightly smaller ranges?

Thoughts?

well, there's not really any top down counters or anything like that.

I thought it would be cool to do, but the technology is slightly beyond me to make them really high-enough quality to actually be good enough to not suck.

if you're a better 3-d modeler than I am, you're welcome to put something out that would work.

I'd keep it to 3-4 models per counter for infantry , 2-3 for archers, 2 for cavalry and wnything goes for monsters

well, sorry.

The issue with posting armies from existing games/ worlds is a copytight one.  You're certainly welcome to try your hand at creating conversion lists, but it's doubtful we'll publish those.

Oh, and I guess I'm sort of back smile

I hope you've had a chance to play by now.

The more you add to a unit, the more it costs, almost logarithmically.

Adding Bows to a unit makes them more expensive than you'd think, but they're really worth it.  Really. No, don't argue, it's really worth it.

so basically, if you've got lots of wounds or lots of specials it gets to be a lot of points spent on a single unit.

Single units do not fare well, unless they're godlike, and then I won't play with you anymore. smile

let us know how the first games went.

holy toledo, I leave for a month and all hell breaks loose!

The specials work on a per UNIT  basis

yes, I will forward it to you...if I find it smile

holy toledo, I leave for a month and all hell breaks loose!

No changes necessary at this scale, unless you have very large minis and very small hexes...

usu, it would work with 1 mini per hex for cavalry or foot, seige engines all bets are off smile

powweb is good I suggest it for most of my clients. I do not like GoDaddy's interface. verio is expensive.

You can ZIP the pdf and upload it here.

didn't want to post it to the world just yet... I guess I could... not much going on in the FTM world these days...

How would you like to see this but using the same type of dicing system that FTM uses? (d4 for wimps up to d12 for the toughies)

thoughts, or concerns?

(and no, you can't tell me to finish FTM II or For the Macedonians first)

Hi there!

Sorry I missed your post earlier, but I was camping with Boy Scouts for a week without internet (gasp!)

There aren't any online resources as far as  know for extra races, but we do have some more in the works (right, for five years, in the works)

but anyway,  I'll send you what we have via P< if I can, or email if not.

nope, it's a pie tin cast in old fashioned plaster.

Noel and I used this as the enemy base for a sci-fi 6mm game we played and now we don't play 6mm any more.

This is made of paneling, plaster of paris, junk, and some other stuff plus flock. Minis are not included in the sale, but are included for the scale.

The whole piece is about 22 inches square. I would sell this to YOU for the grand price of $25.

I mostly take paypal but would accept other arrangements if you ask nicely. Shipping will be billed at whatever it costs me to send, I will insure.

Send PM or email but please include contact information such as name, address, and phone number.

I'm not entirely sure the rules suggestions belong here, but I guess I don't care either

I guess the best thing to do would be to post your questions here on the forum and wait for the throngs of people to answer them (or I will, given a seeming lack of throng)

I like the map very much. However, in my opinion, the counters have got to be absolutely beautiful or we'll lose people.

I wonder if tiny plastic minis would be cool, like Memoir 44?

(expensive, yes, but cool, eh?)

My opinion (for what it's worth) is that the Drake Notation is exactly the same as the current ship representations. If it's not available for the standard sheet display, the drake notation shouldn't be any different.

You're certainly capable enough to re-type the ship record sheets into Drake Notation and use them anywhere to the extent that the copyright laws would allow (which probably means NOT publishing them in a vassal mod).

Dan locked them down for a reason, I assume, and unlocking the Drake notation may be sending mixed messages to the consumer.

Again, not my IP, so not my decision.

I don't think I've made any secret of my admiration for Avalanche Press' graphic design. Those counters are beautiful. So much information packed in there, but you'd never call them "cluttered".

The problem with "national" insignia in a sci-fi setting is that someone has to come up with them... i.e. there's no historical reference to draw upon.

Agreed, avalanche press is top of the line for simple, yet information-filled designs.

One option would be to use current insignia and create a background around why the US Flag has a big red dot in it (Cause we merged with Japan, of course, in 2865)

Color can have meaning, but at the expense of a small fraction of an already small audience?

Hmmm. bad business if you ask me.

[edit] not to mention how really irritating that is to myself and any other colorblind people. that's like saying we don't need to follow the ADA rules on ramps and entrances because most people will be able to get in our building

Think about what you're saying for a minute before you say it[/rant off]
